    Default Best Golf Shop in Bangkok

    A friend is spending a few days in Bangkok soon on his way to Chiang Mai to play golf (maybe in both places). Anyway, he is asking me where is the best golf shop in Bangkok for variety and pricing. One thing I know he particularly wants to buy while there is a several dozen top of the line Nike balls.

    He will be staying in the Sukhumvit area. Is there a good golf shop in that area or easily reachable in another area via BTS or MRT?

    Oops, I may have just answered my own question. I was searching the web and found a place called Thaniya Plaza off Silom near the Sala Daeng BTS stop apparently that looks like an entire golf shop mall with stores representing all the major brand names.

    Is this a good place, price and convenience wise for me to recommend that he go to shop?

    If I wanted to buy golf equipment in BKK I would go there and the small golf mall inside the emporium.

    However, I don't buy golf clubs here because they are way over priced compared to America and Australia.

    eg. ping G20 set-irons in australia are about 30k baht and BKK prices are about 45k baht.

    golf balls are the same ...peang mak compared to australia.

    Sinless, I warned him of the overpricing here, but he says his luggage is already overweight so he's lightening the load wherever possible to keep from paying a big extra weight baggage fee on the international flight. I think all he wants is to buy a few dozen Nike balls instead of bringing them as extra weight.

    Is Thaniya Plaza on that soi (of the same name I think) full of Japanese men's clubs and massage parlors in the Patpong area? I've walked down that soi a couple of times before and never noticed the mall.

    yes same soi... the entrance on the left is about a pitching wedge from silom
