The 'Flintstones Resort' in Thailand (Suan Peung Resort)



Introducing Suan Peung Resort, a resort in Thailand’s lovely Ratchaburi province gives travelers a chance to sleep inside "villas" shaped like Flintstones characters.

About two-and-a-half hours' drive southwest of Bangkok, Suan Peung Resort is modeled after the prehistoric cartoon town of Bedrock, home to the characters of "The Flintstones" cartoon.

Guests can stay inside buildings shaped like Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty and Dino. There’s also a “stone house,” a rock house and some smaller cabins made out of teak.

Suan Pheung Resort even has a “Bamm Bamm” restaurant, though unfortunately there aren’t any brontosaurus burgers on the menu. Just Thai fare and drinks.

One warning. It's not the place to go for peace and quiet, despite being surrounded by the gorgeous hills of Ratchaburi.

The resort has become something of a local tourist attraction. On a recent long weekend visit, the place was overrun by camera-toting Thais posing all over the place for photos in front of the wacky villas.

Getting there

1. By car
Use Petchkasem road to pass Nakhon Patom province heading to Ratchaburi province. Before entering the downtown of Ratchburi province, you will find a bridge crossing the railway. Big-C department store will be on your left side. On the bridge, there will be a sign telling "turn left to Ratchaburi" and "go straight to Petchaburi".

Go straight on passing Big-C department store to the first traffic light. Turn right at the third traffic light. Before that traffic light, there will be a sign telling " turn right to Suan Pung district, State Highway No. 3087 ". At the intersection, you will find a monument of dragon jar on the right side. After turning right at the traffic light, go straight on for approximately 60 kilometers and you will arrive Suan Pung Resort.


2. By bus or van
If travel by bus, get on the bus at the Southern Bus Terminal and get off at downtown Ratchburi (the end of the line). The fare is 100 baht. After that, go to Sin Rae Siam Bus Terminal and take a bus there. The fare is 70 baht.

If travel by van, get on the van at Bangkok - Jom Bung station in front of 7-11 store near Rattanakosin Hotel. When you arrive Jom Bung (the fare is 100 baht up to this point), tell the driver to go to Baan Aom Kod Kun Kao (the fare is about 500 baht). If you don't want to go all the way to the resort, you can wait for Sin Rae Siam bus which will come every hour (the fare is 40 baht).

Thats the reason I omitted the website from my thread in the 1st post ^^

I called them for the rates;

for a party of four, they have a 2 bedroom cave at 8000 baht;

for a couple, rates are between 3,500 to 5,000 depending on the cave
