After a heavy weekend spent consuming too many Chang beers, Marlboro Lights & chasing girls around the bar counters of Nana Plaza, I resolved to commence a fitness campaign starting on Monday, by going for a late evening walk around Lumpini Park. At around 10pm I caught a taxi to the park (not wishing to overdo the exercise thing) & commenced my evening walk. After about two minutes what struck me was that everyone was walking anti-clockwise while I was walking clockwise. The next thing to strike me was that all the other walkers, who numbered around 40 were young Thai women, wearing provocative clothes & seemingly engaged in the business of prostitution.
The best I could do was snap the scene with my mobile.
Here is an overview shot of the park taken by Forum Support in the Rough Guide helicopter. The bits marked in red are where the girls primarily congregate in the evenings looking for punters, mainly Thais. But as I found out, just about anyone with cash is welcome.
I also notice signs around the park. Here is an example. I know what it means to me, but what does it mean to you?
